ALUMNI ASSOCIATION UPDATE

A message from President Tracy L. Parker '92

Group of Women at Tailgate

I am thrilled to begin my tenure as the Texas State Alumni Association President for the 2023-2024 term. It is my pleasure, along with my board of directors, to represent you – the more than 230,000 people who proudly call themselves Bobcats. The Alumni Association leadership continues to focus on elevating the alumni experience as well to support and serve our Texas State family alongside university staff and volunteers. This year we will be creating and implementing a new five-year Strategic Plan. Please keep watch for various opportunities to help inform our planning process.

FROM THE NEWSROOM

James and Brenda Keller (Medium).jpg

“Since our graduation in 1973 we have supported SWT and Texas State in many areas,” James and Brenda Keller explain why they give to Texas State. James and Brenda met, fell in love, and were married on the SWT campus. After leaving SWT, now Texas State University, both took their business degrees and moved to Houston. Initially, Brenda worked in the savings and loan business. She then earned a law degree and worked for Texas Commerce Bank and Harris County Probate Court #4 for 26 years. “We were blessed to meet two special people who have become part of our lives, Kaitlin Hopkins and Jim Price. Kaitlin and Jim shared their vision of how to support students and make the Texas State Musical Theatre program one of the best in the country. Kaitlin’s leadership has not only accomplished this but has made a difference in many young people’s lives that we are very proud of.” Brenda is now retired after a successful career, and James currently serves as the general manager for Deer Park Lumber Company. The Keller’s are helping drive what’s NEXT at TXST through the Power of Music

Xi Delta | 50th Anniversary

On September 18, 2022, the Xi Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity reached a significant milestone. That date marked the 50th Anniversary of Xi Delta on the campus of Texas State University. As the first Black Greek organization chartered on campus, we are proud of this distinction and our community service work. You are invited to join us on February 24 as we share in the collective strength and unity of all of our involved and impactful organizations.
