Bobcat Donors,
As we move into the start of a new semester, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together in the past months and say thank you.
Because of your generosity, thousands of students at Texas State University are better supported, better prepared, and better equipped to meet the moment and shape the future. In the last year, over 2,800 first-time donors joined our community, a 27% increase over the prior year. That’s more than a number, it’s a growing wave of belief in the power of education and Texas State.
And it’s not just about new support being celebrated, it’s also about the sustained commitment of our most loyal donors. With more than 8,000 individuals giving for 7 or more consecutive years, including over 940 who have given for 25 years or longer, we are laying a lasting foundation for the future.
Among the many stories of generosity this year, I encourage you to read about Robin Harrison, a McCoy College of Business alumna who recently established two lasting endowments to benefit the future of Texas State students. Her story is a powerful reminder that giving back is often deeply personal and incredibly impactful.
Support like yours changes more than a student’s path, it inspires them to create impact of their own. One recent biochemistry graduate, Adelyne Towne, wrote, “Thank you for your generosity and encouragement in my journey of higher education. With your help, I can continue to look forward to helping cultivate an inclusive culture towards trustworthy and accessible science. Thank you again for your support in helping me create my own lasting impact.” That is the difference each of you make.
As we look ahead, our second Huddle Against Hunger campaign is approaching quickly. Last year’s effort raised more than $51,000 and helped provide essential resources for food-insecure students. If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to see the impact of last year’s campaign and consider being part of this powerful effort once again as we take on UTSA.
Thank you for standing with us. Your belief in our students, faculty, and programs is what fuels our continued growth. Together, we are building something extraordinary.
