The Everette and Donna Swinney History Faculty Development Fund was endowed to enhance the work of permanent history faculty as teachers, scholars, and/or University citizens. This year, the fund supported the research of five faculty members (Drs. Sara Damiano, Margaret Menninger, José Carlos de la Puente, Caroline Ritter, and Louie Dean Valencia) engaged in research related to colonial American women?s history, the historical relations between Indigenous people and the Spanish empire in Peru; the history of the teaching of the English language in the British Empire; and the international response to the AIDS crisis in Europe.
