Dr. Kelly Damphousse Becomes Texas State University's 10th President

The Texas State Alumni Association has selected Dr. Cindy Royal, professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as the 2022 Teaching Award of Honor recipient. This award is presented annually to a Texas State professor, lecturer, associate professor, assistant professor, or instructor nominated by their peers and past students.

Debbie O’Reilly (B.A. ’87) was recently named among the Top 50 Women Leaders of San Antonio for 2022 by Womenweadmire.com, a news and information publication for women in business and industry. O'Reilly is an independent consultant and director of global accounts for HelmsBriscoe, a leader in meeting procurement and site selection.

The Common Experience at Texas State University has announced that the 2022-2023 theme will be "Systems Thinking." Texas State presents an engaging academic theme each year, providing numerous opportunites for everyone — students, faculty, staff and community members.

Johanna Foster
Johanna Foster is studying social work and is a proud recipient of the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship, made possible by the support of alumni donors. After graduation, she hopes to advocate for children in the foster care system. Johanna was inspired to pursue this career path because of the social worker who advocated for her and her brother to be reunited in adoption after being separated in the foster care system. Johanna dreams of working with either the veteran community or Child Protective Services.

Alumni of Texas State University play a vital role in serving and shaping the alumni experience by offering their time and leadership to the Texas State University Alumni Association. Applications are now open and close on Friday, July 15 at 5:00 p.m. CST.

Austin Alumni Network: Bobcats at the Ballpark
Austin Bobcats are invited to come together on July 28 at the Dell Diamond to cheer on the Round Rock Express. Game time is at 7:05pm and we will gather at the Budweiser Beer Garden at 6:15pm for networking, giveaways, and discounted drinks. The first pitch will be at 6:50pm. Summer commencement will take place Saturday, August 6, at Strahan Arena at the University Events Center. Thousands of Bobcats will cross the stage and become part of the Texas State Alumni Association. Once A Bobcat, Always A Bobcat!
