ALUMNI ASSOCIATION UPDATE

First Time EVER: TXST vs. Baylor at Bobcat Stadium

This Saturday is the Bobcat football season opener against Baylor. This is the first time ever that the Bobcats will take on the Bears on our home turf, and we want to make sure the Maroon and Gold have a strong showing. Join us before the game for an Alumni Association tailgate with food, drinks, games, and plenty of Bobcat spirit.

President Denise M. Trauth announced that she will retire effective May 31, 2022. “After almost 20 wonderful years in this position, I have decided it is time to move on to the next chapter of my life,” Trauth wrote in an email to Texas State students, faculty, and staff.

Texas State University alumni Hanna Hurd (B.F.A. '21) and Sophie Misercola (B.F.A. '21) are working side by side as production assistants on Martin Scorcese’s newest film, “Killers of the Flower Moon.” These talented Bobcats each charted their own path in the television and film industry before ending up on the same production.

Students are back on our campuses and everything feels full of life. If you're planning on visiting after having been away for a while, there are many changes on and off campus to enjoy. Construction is changing the campuses, renovations will improve student services, and new businesses have opened up in San Marcos.

Welcoming New Alumni Relations Staff

Tamara Corbier

Tamara Corbier
(B.B.A. '14, M.B.A '20)

Tamara joined the Alumni Relations team as the Associate Managing Director on August 9. She will be responsible for the planning and implementation of events, initiatives, programs, and services that keep Bobcats connected to Texas State. Tamara is a two-time Texas State graduate and has been with the university for four years working as a coordinator in the Parent and Family Relations office, where she organized large-scale events like Family Weekend.

(B.S. '19)

Charlcee joined the Alumni Relations team on August 23 as the Alumni Relations Coordinator. She will be responsible for alumni programming, events, and outreach. Her background in public relations and mass communication will benefit our team as we strive to continue delivering elevated alumni communications. Charlcee is a native San Martian, and prior to joining our team was the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park!

Alumni are invited to travel to Miami, Florida to celebrate with us and cheer on the Bobcats as they take on the FIU Panthers. Ticket sales end this Friday, September 3.

Alumni Tailgates

Sept. 4 vs. Baylor

Oct. 9 vs. South Alabama

Nov. 6 vs. ULM (Homecoming)


The Alumni Association will be hosting three alumni tailgates during home games this football season. Tailgate tickets are available at $20 each or $50 for all three. The tailgate experience includes food and drinks, a DJ, TXST giveaways, yard games, and a kids corner. Guests 21+ will receive 2 drink tickets.

Black and Latino Playwrights Celebration

Black and Latino Playwrights Celebration Logo

The Department of Theatre and Dance is hosting the 19th annual Black and Latino Playwrights Celebration through September 5. The celebration features the work of student and professional Black and Latino playwrights, conducted by professional guest directors and artists. A tribute to playwright José Rivera will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 3, and is free and open to the public. Tickets for workshops and new play development readings are also on sale now.
