The year is not over just yet! On December 26, we are hosting a Bobcat BASH Alumni Tailgate before cheering on the Bobcats in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl in Dallas. We hope you can join us in Dallas or watch the game on ESPN and cheer on the Bobcats from home! Find more information about the bowl game on the Texas State Athletics website.
As Texas State looks to celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2024, we have many exciting things ahead and are looking forward to the new year! Thank you for your engagement with the Alumni Association and your continued support of the Bobcat community.

| Bobcat BASH Alumni Tailgate
Join the Texas State University Alumni Association and fellow Bobcat fans for a tailgate celebration before the bowl game! Tailgate tickets can be purchased on our website. We will have live music by Hazard County, a BBQ buffet, full bar with your first two drinks included in admission, plus appearances from the Bobcat Marching Band, Cheerleaders, and Texas State Strutters!

Texas State names provost and vice president for academic affairs
Following an extensive national search, Pranesh Aswath, Ph.D., has been named provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Texas State University (TXST).
Aswath comes to TXST after a 33-year academic and administrative career with the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), serving the last eight years in the provost office holding positions of Provost Ad Interim and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Senior Provost for Academic Planning and Policy, and Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Policy. |

Presidential Debate 2024
The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) announced that Texas State University (TXST) in San Marcos, Texas, will host the first in a series of four scheduled general election debates on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024. With the announcement, TXST earns the distinction of being the first location in Texas to host a presidential debate. #TXSTdebate2024
