Texas State University announces new postsecondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Texas State has announced a four-year postsecondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Projected to launch in fall 2023, Bobcat RISE is a residential college experience that fosters the transition to independent living and employment for young adults with IDD.

TXST will host the 2023 SXSW Innovation Lab, an event showcasing student- and faculty-run technology projects, during the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin. The event will feature students and faculty creating new technology to solve real-world issues.

TXST was named one of 34 University Transportation Centers as part of efforts to train the next generation of professionals. TXST received two grants under the program focused on enhancing the safety, innovation and efficiency of roads, bridges, rail, shipping and airspace.

Families Learning Together, a community education project, has taught computational thinking through art and storytelling since 2017. Developed by Dr. Sean Justice, an associate professor in the School of Art and Design, the program teaches families and kids to make art and tell stories with computer programming.
