The past few Bobcat Days have drawn record crowds, a sign we’re on track to welcome another historic freshman class. I enjoyed connecting with so many future Bobcats and alumni whose kids and grandkids are making TXST a family tradition. |

Mission Moment: Advancing the Run to R1
We’re making tremendous progress in the Run to R1, our mission to become a Tier One research institution. Key research metrics are on track to achieve new institutional records. We have record high admissions to our Ph.D. programs and our total R&D expenditures are 40% higher than this time last year. These accomplishments show our research infrastructure is strengthening and our R1 investments are working.
On May 1, we’ll literally run to R1 when we host a special event for faculty and staff – an R1 Town Hall and 1K Walk/Run. We’ll gather to discuss our research trajectory and walk/run across campus in a symbolic gesture that we are united in our shared vision and boldly moving forward.
