FROM THE NEWSROOM

Stellos Alliance Scholars

The Stelos Scholars program at Texas State University provides a two-year experience for community-minded and intellectually motivated students. Through personal involvement and mentorship from Texas State faculty, accomplished alumni, and community leaders, each scholar develops the knowledge and skills they need to reach their potential and become a leader in their profession and field of study.

Dale Blasingame

Dale Blasingame ('99, '11), an assistant professor of practice in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University, joins the Big Ideas TXST podcast for July's episode, discuss National Parks, State Parks, and incorporating these outdoor treasures into higher education. Each semester Blasingame oversees a class of students who travel to public parks across the U.S. to hone their journalism skills and learn to tell stories with substance and relevance.

Goodnight San Marcos

There are many things to love about San Marcos. The lush waters of the river, the mystical mermaid culture, and the beautiful campus Texas State students call home. For comedian, author, and Texas State alumna Kelly Stone ('00), all of this inspired her to write her first children's book, "Goodnight San Marcos," about the things that make San Marcos a one-of-a-kind city.
