Alkek One equips students with in-demand technology skills |
TXST University Libraries teamed up with NASA and the LBJ Institute for STEM Education and Research to launch the Alkek One Micro-Credentialing Program. The program’s free workshops are helping students earn valuable credentials in a variety of technologies and tools, such as 3D modeling, prototyping, geographic information systems software, and applications for virtual and augmented reality. TXST faculty and staff can also use the program to enhance their skills.

Smart Cities lab dedicated at STAR Park
Project CIEDAR (Connected Infrastructure for Education, Demonstration and Applied Research) held an unveiling this month for the first of nine living labs. The solar powered street lighting system introduced at the site was enabled thanks to its 5G Wide Area Network.

USDA grant will mentor diverse women in agricultural fields
Texas State received a three-year, $100,000 grant to bring more underrepresented Black and Latina female students into careers in agriculture, food, natural resources, and human sciences. The project will connect high school students with mentors who are TXST undergraduate students.

Texas State listed alongside some of the nation’s best colleges
For the fourth consecutive year, Texas State has been named one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduates to earn their college degree by the Princeton Review. The university was also named to “America’s Top Colleges” for 2022 by Forbes and cited by U.S. News and World Report for being among the “Best National Universities for 2022-23."
